The Great Divide

This was the last song I wrote for the MaxQ project.

As perhaps I have mentioned, a lot of these songs were written as a result of my inviting some god of the coming post-MaxQ era to walk with me for a bit. I had always wanted "Love" to be a force in this project, and invited Love to walk with me once again, hoping I might bring Love along with us to and through MaxQ.

Through whatever historical coincidence or irony - or perhaps design on my part, I don't know - I wound up writing and completing this song in early January of 2021, just as our former President was bringing to a peak the insurrection and coup attempt that transpired on January 6, 2021.

I was writing this song, invoking Love, through that horrible time. I think I recorded the version I've posted online on the night before Joe Biden's inauguration.
