Opposite Shore

See you riding your horse along the shore
In a brand new dream I’ve had before
Riding out to the edge of night
I never learn if you return all right
It’s a common thread that we all share
We all fall down in the dark somewhere
A secret kept close to the bone
We all go out in the dark alone
Live long enough and you’ll see the light
Over on the opposite shore tonight
Watch the stars as they arrive
Light moves on but it does survive
Do we come back? Someday return?
Learn to fly or crash and burn?
You can light a fire ---- just strike a match
But time’s a thief you can never catch
Maybe somewhere someday there’ll be a dawn
Where we all get up and carry on
If it comes, I’ll see you there
Out on the opposite shore somewhere
Do we come back? Someday return?
Learn to fly or crash and burn?
There is no way to forget your loss,
But time is a river you can never cross
